Palm Power A brief look at the new Prophet 2000 system in use by AMS to integrate their information systems.

Palm Power

Since the end of March AMS has been operating with a new Information System - Prophet 2000. Aurel Voiculescu - Head of Information Systems - said "It was a huge task in changing the existing system, it is in the end a team effort to get the final result. It is our MD's vision, shared by the Board of Directors, that AMS needs to be one of the best suppliers in the industry. Martin Seymour believes that time is changing and we need robust systems to allow us to grow."

Duncan Mills (Operation Manager) says "We were sceptical at the beginning, however the system has given me the opportunity to control stock from goods-in to despatch point of view. The simplicity and speed of the system has allowed the department to gain further efficiencies."

The new Quality Analysis System, an integrated part of the new system, is designed to allow the quality control department to specify customer and suppliers standard acceptance score profiles. The data is caputured through an integrated hand held unit, this is then analysed within the Wider Prophet 2000 database as a set of integrated quality analysis data for immediate communication with suppliers, informed stock selection and seasonal supplier and customer performance analysis. The new quality control module will allow faxing and e-mail of QC records straight to growers.

It is now possible for our growers to receive their orders either as an email or as a fax. In the near future our growers will be able to get their orders via AMS website.
