KJZ "Berries to Birds"
Over the last month or two KJZ has managed to secure yet more contracts, one being with Concordia foods (a subsidiary of Sun Valley Foods) for the distribution of frozen chicken portions from their sites in Tewkesbury, Bury St Edmunds and Brierly Hill for distribution nationwide. At the start the volume of this business was quite low but due to our commitment to quality of service and our massive flexibility we have built on our relationship with Concordia and we are now moving vast amounts of product for them, up to 300 pallets a week and we feel this will only get busier in the run up to the Christmas period.
Our other major contract is with Turners distribution of Soham. They along with our help have won the national Sommerfield contract, we are gearing up for start on October 13th, with the AMS site at Evesham being the focal point for the West Country side of the business. Since our partnership with Turners began we have seen a marked increase in volume - over 50% - passing through the AMS site, and this equates to 2 - 3 hundred extra pallets of produce a week. To keep up with the new demand we at KJZ are investing at present in two new vehicles, the first an 18 pallet rigid and secondly a new fleet flat ship articulated Scania. Our aim is to keep building KJZ with investment whilst always looking for new opportunities. Yet again the team at KJZ has moved mountains to achieve and maintain the high standards and quality demanded by our customers. We are very optimistic about the future as our ties with Turners get stronger and stronger we don't think it will be too long before see the start of a KJZ/Turners West Country distribution centre sprouting up in the Vale of Evesham.
A big welcome to Alex Drummons and Ade Wilson the newest members of our driving team, and congratulations to Mark & Cath Musto on the birth of their baby boy Edward Sydney Musto and a belated congratulations to Vraig and Jane Kettle on the birth of their twins Jack and Lewis.
