Lights on for Lancashire Locals
The iconic image of Blackpool Tower will be appearing on strawberry labels in Asda Blackpool this summer as the store is just one of the additions to the local delivery scheme that AMS will be implementing for the retailer over the 2005 season, the store will be supplied alongside two others in Lancashire as this region is added to the ‘locals list’ for the first time. The roll-out has also continued in the more established regions as well. Four extra Midlands stores will be supplied from the Vale of Evesham and further north Yorkshire and Humber will see six new additions. In total around 25% of Asda stores across nine regions of the UK will be serving local British strawberries to their customers. In line with their task to promote and raise the profile of British fruit AMS (through suppliers Well-Pict European) also intend to roll the scheme out across the whole of the British fruit range, including raspberries, rhubarb, cherries, plums and top fruit.
