Strawberry Recipe
Salsa de Fresa
Ingredients:
24 count Well-Pict Strawberries 3 count Kiwi fruit 3 count Granny Smith Apples 3 Tablespoons Apple Jelly 3 Tablespoons Brown Sugar 4 medium Fresh Mint Leaves plus leaves for garnish 10 taco size tortillas* (yield: 60 chips) 1/2 cup Granulated Sugar 4 Tablespoons Cinnamon Water
Directions:
In a small bowl mix apple jelly and brown sugar until thoroughly blended.
Cut all fruit into small cubes and place in large mixing bowl. Finely chop mint leaves and add to fruit.
Pour jelly and brown sugar mixture over fruit, toss, and chill.
With large knife or pizza cutter lay out tortillas and cut into triangles.
Mix sugar and cinnamon together.
Place triangles single-layer and flat on cookie sheets and moisten with water. Then sprinkle sugar/cinnamon mixture on top.
Bake at 450 degrees for about 5 minutes until crispy and lightly browned.
Serve Salsa de Fresa in serving bowl, garnish with sprigs of mint and surround with tortilla crisps to dip.
For a main course slternative, use salsa de fresa over grilled fish or chicken.
* Substitute lowfat tortillas for a healthy alternative.
