Fruit Logistica Participation
15/Mar/2007
Fruit Logistica Participation Well Pict European Group recently participated in the industry`s largest exhibition.

Fruit Logistica Participation

Well-Pict European (WPE) recently exhibited at the industries leading Fresh fruit & vegetable exhibition and conference in Berlin.

From the outset they were very excited about participating in such a global exhibition. Although WPE has been around for 15 years, the company has not been in the habit of shouting out about who they are and what they do. Rather they have been quietly getting on with the job and mastering the UK market. Recently the company found themselves in a position where they had the capacity to start growing their business outside of the UK and it was felt that having a presence at Fruit Logistica was a sure way of announcing to Europe that they have arrived.

Carol Ford the group sales director was convinced from the outset that Fruit Logistica was a great platform from which she could get her message out into the European Market place and promote the group as a whole.  ‘Although we already have some established sales in Europe, this was a good opportunity to introduce our clients to the Well Pict family of companies. Of course we are always on the look out for new growers, customers and opportunities and hope that Berlin will produce a few of both’, Ford commented

Although our stand was under the Well-Pict European banner, 12 different companies were represented. These include A.M.S Marketing, Well Pict Growers, Fruitful Jobs, Fresh Logistics and WPE European, WPE Tunnels and WPE Scotland. Between them, these companies deal with the entire process from the growing of crops to the supplying of technical & grower services, through to procurement, logistics, marketing, sales and administrative services.

WPE exhibited the full range of products that they grow & market, which will include berries, currants and cherries. They also used the show to launch their brand new products in the You Are What You Eat range. ‘Interest in these products was fantastic and we even picked up our first orders at the show,’ commented Jayson Clark, Marketing Manager for AMS

‘We were delighted with the response that we received in Berlin. We were bombarded with enquiries and visitors on all three days and produced many leads some of which have already borne fruit,’ he continued.  During the three days many berry growers from all over the world took the opportunity to introduce themselves and their product to us. We were impressed with the professionalism and the quality of the suppliers that we spoke to. There were also many European retailers and other buyers, all of whom expressed interest in dealing with WPE,’ Clark concluded

WPE’s participation was a good investment in the future of their business and they intend to be there again in 2008.
