Well Pict now offering new strawberry packaging
15/Oct/2008
Well Pict now offering new strawberry packaging Well Pict Berries has introduced a new 2 pound strawberry clamshell designed to reduce shipping costs.

Well Pict now offering new strawberry packaging and Florida grown winter strawberries.

Well Pict Berries has introduced a new 2 pound strawberry clamshell designed to reduce shipping costs, and they will be featuring this and all their latest innovations at PMA Fresh Summit in Orlando.

The new clamshell is engineered to fit in the same trays as Well Pict’s popular, recently redesigned 4 pound container. Both the new 2 pound and 4 pound are designed for improved product protection, while addressing concerns about shipping costs and the environment.  Packing in a 4x2 configuration with a 160 pallet count, the new clamshell design provides approximately 35% more unit density, resulting in reduced fuel usage and cheaper freight rates without compromising product volume or safety.

Well Pict has a long history of commitment to growing practices and packaging that are environmentally friendly, and these new clamshells continue that commitment.  All of Well Pict’s clamshells are manufactured from recyclable PET material that is 70% recycled content from drink bottles, and 50% of the power used in the manufacturing process comes from the sun.

Well Pict is also introducing winter strawberries from Florida for the first time this year.  Meeting the same high standards for quality as their California berries, Well Pict’s Florida berries will ship December to February to boost availability throughout the winter season.

Due to added acreage in several growing areas, including Baja California, Well Pict continues to expand its production of organic and conventional raspberries, and now features 12 month availability for both.  In strawberries, Well Pict is seeing a good fall crop from their Oxnard fields.  “We expect a great product from Oxnard through the fall season,” says Dan Crowley, Well Pict’s Sales Manager.  “We will continue to have good volume and a high quality product.”

Be sure to visit Well Pict at PMA Booth #2069 to sample our delicious premium berries and learn more about all the latest developments at Well Pict!
