“Well-Pink Day”
Congratulations to all of the staff at Wellpict European in Honeybourne, Evesham for supporting Breast Cancer Research by hosting a Wear It Pink Day along with a “Well-Pink Tea Party” on Friday 31st of October. Organised by members of the commercial and technical team, staff members were encouraged to wear an item of pink for the day and give a donation of £2 to the charity. All members of the staff from the Honeybourne site took part-wearing items ranging from pink socks and hats right through to a full Pink Panther costume.
On Friday afternoon the “Well-Pink Tea Party” was held in the boardroom, which for another small donation included lots of pink cakes and goodies, all kindly baked and donated by staff. A pink raffle was also held at the Party and in total the staff managed to raise £253.87 for Breast Cancer Research.
Marketing Executive Clare Hayton commented that “All it takes is a little bit of organisation and then it is amazing to see the whole team come together to support such a worthwhile cause. We are proud of everyone who has taken part in the fundraising activities and know that everyone, especially the boys enjoyed dressing up in pink for the day”
Back in May, the ladies from the commercial team along with family members took part in the Stratford Race for Life in aid of Cancer Research and raised £4,078 after a much loved member of the team was struck down with Leukaemia.
Wear it pink is the biggest event during Breast Cancer Awareness Month (October) and since its launch the event has raised £6.6 million. For more details on wear it pink day visit www.wearitpink.co.uk
