Hiller Farms is situated at Mudwalls Farm, Dunnington on the edge of the Vale of Evesham.  Fruit has been grown on this site since the early twentieth century.  Historically the fruit was sold to local markets then with the coming of the railway to Evesham the fruit was transported to the London markets.  During the 1950’s and 1960’s large quantities of fruit was grown for the canning industry, popular at the time. In the 1970’s and early 80’s, 300acres of the farm was laid out for Pick Your Own.  Then during the mid 80’s a move was made to supply the major supermarkets with fruit.

Hiller Farms now grow over 100 acres of soft fruit, all in poly tunnels and over 150 acres of top fruit (apples and plums).

Hiller Farms LTD also includes Hiller Engineering as part of our extensive range of agricultural services. Hiller Engineering was created with the intention of providing growers with a range of specialised equipment for use in crop production. Hiller Engineering is set apart from others in the industry by developing and providing often specialist equipment which is not available "off the shelf".

Increasing pressure on growers to produce high quality, high yielding crops resulted in 3 years of research and development on the part of Hiller Engineering - the result of which was the Hillers Bed Former, a specialist piece of agricultural equipment capable of producing firm, unfirom high beds with a height of up to 55cm which offer the following benefits:

- Increased rooting zome

- A reduction in the risk of waterlogged roots and phytophora

- A significant reduction in mud splash and a subsequent reduction in the amount of straw required

-Increased soil temperature as a result of the larger surface area and potentially earlier picking dates.

- Increased visibility to pickers, ensuring that all crop is harvested

- Long lasting beds that can be replanted on most soil types, and thus reducing the colst of cultivations and tunnel movements.

This is in addition to our very own polythene layer which uses discs to remove soil for the edge of the polythene to be laid at the bottom of the ridge and a further set of discs to cover the polythene behind angled press wheels. As a result of our dedicated research and development into such agricultural machinery the result is easy to drive with a tractor, ensuring that the machine is kept in line with the bed.

To complete our range we offer our own Hole Marker which has been designed to punch holes through polythene at specific distances to assist in the planting of strawberry plants.

As part of our committment to innovation within our industry We are constantly developing new ideas and concepts with the aim of providing high quality machines to aid growers in producing as high a quality fruit crop as efficiently as possible.
