Well-Pict Inc Back in 1969, founder Tim Miyasaka and a team of experienced berry growers had an idea for a new kind of berry farm. They would sow the fertile fields of coastal California and apply their collective berry growing knowledge to create the world`s premiere berries. They would form lasting relationships and deliver only the most attentive customer service. And thus was born the Well-Pict brand.

For over 35 years, Well-Pict Berries has been dedicated to producing premium berries of the highest quality, while maintaining the highest standards of customer service.  By focusing on the needs and concerns of the consumer, Well-Pict has continued to stay on the cutting edge of technology and industry trends, while never losing sight of the importance of the smile and the handshake.  From our use of 100% modular packaging to meet the demand for the common footprint, to harvesting methods that extend the shelf life of our berries, Well-Pict has responded to the requests of retailers and the realities of the marketplace.  By establishing "trading partnerships" with our customers, we are able to customize our programs to each customer's needs, rather than a "one-size-fits-all" approach.  Backing it up with a customer support staff that is second to none, Well-Pict is rightly proud of our strong tradition of putting the customer first.

Well-Pict has listened to our customers' needs in product marketing as well.  Having built a label that is recognized worldwide, Well-Pict has also developed the comprehensive marketing support program to maintain that high profile.  Point-of-sale materials can be customized for individual retailers and our packaging is eye-catching, attractive, and display-ready.  Our promotion support is excellent, and we utilize extensive trade advertising opportunities.  Best of all, our berries are consistently the highest quality, best-looking, most flavorful berries around.  One taste, and your customers will come back for more.

Every Well-Pict strawberry comes from our own patented proprietary varieties, bred for sweeter taste, higher color, consistent shape, and longer shelf life.  To grow the perfect berry, it takes the perfect climate.  The coast of California is the ideal location for producing the sweet, beautiful berries that carry the Well-Pict name.  To take maximum advantage of the coastal growing season, Well-Pict has growing areas ranging from Watsonville in the north to the Baja California town of San Quintin in the south.  Slight variations in climate between each area provide for staggered harvest times without loss of quality.  This means Well-Pict is able to ship premium berries year-round, with no winter supply gap.

All of Well-Pict's plants are new, first-year growth to consistently provide the quality of berries needed throughout the year.  Advanced technology, testing, and techniques are combined with the careful hand-picking and packing that ensures quality care of the berries.  Well-Pict's use of the field-based Harvesting Machine enables "the cold chain" to begin at an earlier point, protecting the berries and increasing shelf life.  It also reduces packing costs and increases efficiency.  The field worker no longer has to walk to the end of the row with a packed carton and then return back.  The berries are, of course, still hand-picked and packed, but the carton is merely placed on a conveyor which transports it to the cooler.

Well-Pict packs 100% of its berries in modular containers including half-pint, pint, one pound, two pound, and four pound clamshells, as well as half-trays and long-stem packs.  Advances in packaging provide for minimum handling and maximum shelf life, which equals increased profit for a high-margin commodity.  The modular clamshells are popular because they not only protect the product, they also display the berries in a more attractive way.  And all Well-Pict berries are shipped using the Common Footprint.

Maintaining high quality worldwide is not easy.  But Well-Pict maintains its quality presence on the world stage by consistently practicing the most efficient methods of picking, packing, cooling, and shipping.  Strawberries need delicate handling, and Well-Pict is perfectly equipped for the challenge.  Hand-selected and cooled immediately in the field, Well-Pict's premium berries can be on the road or in the air within 12 hours after picking.  Whether in North America, Japan, or any other world market where Well-Pict is featured, your customers will receive the same beautiful, flavorful, fresh berries that are always guaranteed by the Well-Pict name.
