ASDA Customers say it with fruit

ASDA ran a trial with supplier/grower AMS & Well-Pict European with the launch of a LOVE HEART shaped strawberry pack into 50 of their stores.

All parties are excited about this product as it demonstrates packaging innovation from the grower as well as representing a unique selling proposition for ASDA at a key trading moment.

The strawberries and punnet are supplied to ASDA by a single grower in Spain. This grower has been supplying ASDA for some years with their standard strawberry lines and is familiar with ASDA’s stringent quality expectations.  The Sabrosa variety has been used as it is a typically sweet & juicy strawberry that also travels well.

Breda Jones Marketing Manager for ASDA Produce said ‘ Our customers loved the love heart shaped Valentine Strawberry pack last year so much that we are promoting it in all stores this year’. We are featuring the product on the ‘main promotional end’ to ensure that customers will in addition to their Valentines Flowers pick up their strawberries at Asda. With Asda winning Flower Retailer of The Year last year we know that customers will want to come to ASDA to get their Valentines flowers and other pressies!
