PickWise: 100 up
PickWise arrived in the Uk fresh produce market in 2002 with a bang (OK, and a couple of splutters). Now SCS (Supply Chain Systems Ltd), developerse of the "Wise" range of software products, has reached its first century - that was the number of UK growers using pickwise as the 2004 season came to a close.
Many fresh produce businesses have had to tough it out in a very difficult market this year. Who knows what the future holds? But what better time to get a really clear view on one of the biggest issues in production - labour productivity. PickWise, with its suite of reports delivers that clear view and provides management with a reliable basis for decision-making.
Unit traceability also comes with PickWise, showing "who picked what, where and when" for each batch of produce - an enormous additional benefit alongside the main focus - on labour productivity improvements.
According to SCS, users of this labour productivity and traceability tool will see some more useful additions to their current version in 2005, but next year will be a year of "minimum changes and disruption". SCS has expanded its technical team to support both its currently distributed versions and to build in even more features and benefits for the longer term.
